Organized at Camp Wood, Quincy, Ill., and mustered in for 100 days June
5, 1864. Ordered to Memphis, Tenn., June 9. Attached to 4th Brigade, District
of Memphis, Tenn., District of West Tennessee. Transferred to 3rd Brigade,
District of Memphis, July 9. Assigned to guard and picket duty at and about
Memphis till September. Repulse of Forrest's attack on Memphis August 21.
Mustered out September 4, 1864.
Regiment lost during service 1 Officer and 17 Enlisted men killed and
mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 31 Enlisted men by disease. Total 50.
