This is a picture of Pvt. James Higgins of the 123 IL IN Co. K. James lived in Hutton Township at the time of enlistment 4 Aug. 1862 in Mattoon, IL. and discharged 28 June 1865 in Nashville, TN. James was born June 1836 in PA. He died 13 May 1916 in Danville, IL at the Soldiers Home. He is buried in the Soldiers Home cemetery.
