15th Illinois Infantry Regiment
Three Year Service
May 24, 1861 - September 1, 1865
The 15th consolidated with 14th Infantry on July 1, 1864, they were a single
battalion but were referred to as the "14th and 15th Illinois Veteran Battalion " 
The battalion organization was discontinued on April 28, 1865 and
the regiment was Reorganized with new recruits
